“Rhodes” is the very first track I ever wrote. After being inspired by Lindsey Stirling’s self-titled album for many years, in 2018, I decided it was time to hit the ground running and begin creating my own music. With a strong Four-on-the-floor rhythm and heavy synth arpeggiated patterns, the track includes a catchy fiddle-like melody. I came up with the name “Rhodes” for the track because by the time I completed it and needed to send it to the recording studio, I said to myself, “The very first thing I see out my window will be the track name.” Coincidentally, I saw the road leading to my house. To give the title a more “artistic” edge, I decided to spell it “Rhodes”, instead of “Roads.”

After I completed writing “Rhodes”, I knew it was time to write more songs and have some sort of collection of songs. In January of 2019, my self-titled EP was released.

The opening track, “Yellow”, features a catchy, call and response between the violin and synth. I chose the name “Yellow” because of its cheerful nature.

The second track on my EP, “To the Sea”, is a little more dark. With rhythmic piano and synth under a story telling violin line, the track paints a scene that keeps you wondering where it will go.

The third track on my EP is “Rhodes.” See above for more information.

The fourth and final track on my EP is “Overshadow.” Opening with a rhythmic drum beat and futuristic laser sound, the violin continues this futuristic theme until the last minute of the track. The piano is then introduced and the track concludes with a sensation of “the clouds are opening up and there is light at the end of the tunnel.” When I was writing this track, I was heavily influenced by “Bust A Move” by Infected Mushroom. You can hear elements of the track in “Overshadow.”
